Sponsors | As quarter ends, gifts big and small

I'm delighted to acknowledge two recent gifts as I close out this quarter: $20 from a reader in New Jersey, and $200 from my most-generous donor of all -- a reader in Alabama. Frequent Gannett Bloggers will recognize that Alabama reader's past gifts, which now total a whopping $1,775 over the past three years.

With one day left in the quarter, I've raised $1,488. The breakdown:
  • Reader donations: $481
  • Advertising: $1,007
I'm trying to earn $4,000 quarterly, through donations of $5 per reader, plus advertising sales. Please use the PayPal "Donate" or "Subscribe" tools in the green rail, upper right. Or mail cash and checks payable to: Jim Hopkins, 584 Castro St. #823, San Francisco, Calif., 94114-2594.

  1. Well, I, for one, say good for you, Hopkins. The blog/forum is still a treasure hunt — lots of petty, hostile immature nonsense but that's to be expected. I don't mind siftin' through it because that's the level of "debate" these days, but there is some really good information here. I know several Gannett people who rely on it because God knows one can't rely on a single thing from Gannett itself.

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
