Following is from the "Our Company" page on Corporate's website:
As Gannett builds on its valuable local brands and strong journalism, it also is expanding its mobile and digital businesses. The Moms Like Me network has been kaput since early October -- four long months ago.
ReplyDeleteTotally left out PearlsReview.com... and DealChiken.
ReplyDeleteSorry, Jim, but you didn't read this very carefully. What they're saying is that the LOCAL versions of the national network still exist.
ReplyDeleteHere's a few examples:
http://news.cincinnati.com/section/MOMS/Cincy-Moms-Blog-Network
http://www.news-press.com/section/moms
http://www.tlhmoms.com/
There are 81 of those?
ReplyDeleteJim, you are right. There are NO versions of MomsLikeMe left. Those sites, Wilmington and others reverted to their earlier local Moms sites, and they are no longer connected. That graf is a gross oversight by someone in MamaG.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the shoddy sentence structure? Need to get this to the copy desk stat. Dangling modifiers. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteShoddy sentences ain't all. The Arizona Cardinals hired Frank Reich (former Bills QB) yesterday. His bio showed he played QB for 23 years, finishing at age 46. Ran on azcentral for HOURS.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this is the week the Sports editor took furlough . . .
Shocking that the marketing department can't get this right. Shocking! Reminds me of the time I found 3 different taglines on the USAT Media Lounge. Guess they couldn't make up their minds which one they liked.
ReplyDeleteyou forgot the to mention they called highschoolsports.net "a top digital sports brand"
ReplyDeleteMy, my, the corporate web site "Our Company" text has been magically changed in the past few moments to delete Moms.
ReplyDeleteBut it's not like anybody in the glass towers reads this blog!
11:59 Meanwhile, Rudd Davis and Heather Frank live on in USA Today's online list of executives.
ReplyDeleteYo, Gannett! Ever notice how Google, Yahoo, and other REAL digital companies never call themselves "digital?"
ReplyDeleteEnough with the word "digital" already. That differentiation is only necessary when there is severe doubt... like people who claim they are NOT racist.
