Sponsors | This just in: my newest subscriber

A reader in Arizona has just committed to a $20 annual contribution via my new donation option: subscriptions. They take the hassle out of remembering to financially support the No. 1 blog devoted to the nation's No. 1 newspaper publisher. Plus, subscriptions provide a more reliable source of income for yours truly.

With this latest contribution, I'm now at 76% of my goal. Still, the quarter is already 82% over, so I've still got a ways to go. The breakdown so far:
  • Reader donations: $900
  • Advertising: $2,153
I'm trying to earn $4,000 quarterly, through donations of $5 per reader, plus advertising sales. Please use the PayPal "Donate" or "Subscribe" tools in the green rail, upper right. Or mail cash and checks payable to: Jim Hopkins, 584 Castro St. #823, San Francisco, Calif., 94114-2594.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
