WFMY | Two station anchors on the way out

[Bates, Kerr]

Evening anchor Kent Bates is leaving the CBS affiliate in Greensboro, N.C., after six years, says Erik Huey at Triadmediawatch blog, citing a Greensboro News and Record report earlier yesterday. Also out: Sports Director Greg Kerr.

  1. Allow me to be the first one to post here.

Lougee is an ass wipe and his boss Dubow does not know shit about broadcasting. Seriously, these two baffoons are running these tv stations into the ground. We should have sold all of our stations last year when we had a $3.5 billion offer on the table.

Our station is so screwed up and the corporate broadcast people like Wayne F and Paul T are useless.

  2. Good to see things are just as screwed up with broadcast as with the newspaper division.

I think beginning to think it corporate is only screwing up newspapers.

  3. I really liked Kent Bates AND Greg Kerr. Bates was one of the few anchors who was comfortable on camera and didn't convey this self-centered "look at me" presence. If he was good enough to sit beside Sandra Hughes, he should be good enough to sit without her - and in my opinion he was/is! I'll never watch another WFMY2 news broadcast. I'd rather watch Time Warner's News 14 anyway - or FOX8.
