Smokin' traffic: Our one millionth visit draws closer

OMG! We're now fewer than 9,000 visits from hitting that already overhyped milestone in Gannett Blog's history. (I started publishing publicly with a scary post, Sept. 11, 2007.)

Free offer! Waste countless hours tracking the countdown via the Visits ticker box, bottom of the blue sidebar, on your right.

Selma Sez . . .
Once this milestone is reached, our General Counsel Selma Bouvier cautions: "Please celebrate with wild abandon, while also enjoying your alcoholic beverages and cigarettes of choice responsibly."

Please post your replies in the comments section, below. To e-mail confidentially, write gannettblog[at]gmail[dot-com]; see Tipsters Anonymous Policy in the green sidebar, upper right.

  1. Jim,
If someone had told you the day you started this blog it would reach that 1 million mark, would you have believed them?

  2. Nope; I still can't believe it.

  3. Keep it up, Jim.
You chose a blog niche that has ongoing interest in unsettled times. The unresponsive Gannett management has so many closeted skeletons and hairbrained ideas foisted on its newspapers that a million will merely be a good beginning for Gannett Blog.

  4. Oh, no!
Waiter! Waiter! Please move me to a nonsmoking revelry area!

  5. Is there a prize for the one-millionth visitor?

    Keep up the good work.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
