FAQs About Me | Sparky, Sparky, Sparky!

One in an occasional series about yours truly.

Q. Who the heck is this Sparky guy you keep referencing? All you've told us is that he's your domestic partner, and his birthday was on Monday. How about a photo, at least?
A. So kind of you to ask! But we think it best to follow the grand tradition of Phyllis Diller's Fang, Norm Peterson's Vera, Niles Crane's Maris and, of course, USA Today columnist Craig Wilson's "my partner, Jack." (Sparky did say it's OK to mention this: He was on the copy desk at The Cincinnati Enquirer in the early to mid-1970s, before Gannett bought the newspaper. How intriguing!)

Got a question? Leave it in the comments section, below. You can also write to me confidentially from a non-work computer, using this link to e-mail FAQs About Me; see Tipsters Anonymous Policy in the sidebar, upper right.

  1. Is Sparky as woofy as you are?

  2. @3:50 a.m.: Woofy-er! And thanks!

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
