Totally Superficial: Name the Gannettoid hotties

Diseased-sounding law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom has heartily chastised two employees for an "inappropriate" poll on their blog Skadden Insider, rating the firm's hottest female attorneys, media gossip blog Gawker says. It seems the top brass at the top drawer New York firm thinks this is, well, inappropriate.

Hah! Gannett Blog, being totally independent of the Death Star, feels no such compunctions. Plus, I'm on vacation in Brazil, where beauty isn't just a way of life; it is life. Plus, plus: I am on vacation, so I don't want to spend too much time contemplating such weighty topics as the First Amendment and why grouchy-looking union hater Wendell J. Van Lare has such a scowling expression in his official company photo. Therefore, I'm asking my readers to nominate the hotties of Gannettland. Then, I'll be totally arbitrary and choose my own candidates if I don't like your picks.

[Photo: She's not -- repeat, not! -- a Gannettoid. That's Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen. I may be gay, but that doesn't mean I don't know how to post gratuitous photos of babes to attract readers -- just like a certain Gannett newspaper that has an entire celebrity section devoted solely to Paris Hilton.]

  1. hello sir. I enjoy your blog, but is something like this necessary? Will the people submitted have to give approval? I hope so. I think this is exploitative and foolish. I encourage all readers to boycott this competition.

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
