This is today's Des Moines Register; click on the image for a bigger view. Cementing Iowa's first-in-the-political-nation status, the Register offers readers 18 pages of coverage in print this morning from last night's caucuses upset. Elegantly clean, beautifully designed front page; I really enjoy the Register's look overall. Good photos, especially Obama's. (That Illinois senator has some big hands!)
Online, my chief beef is that I couldn't find political columnist David Yepsen's analysis. I gave up after about three minutes of hunting around. I posted earlier on Yepsen here. He's one of Gannett's brand-name reporters. I watched him on Charlie Rose a couple nights ago, and finished the segment wondering if Yepsen might finally retire after this year's presidential elections. I believe he's been at the Register since 1974. Here's that interview with Rose:
