Appleton | Building sales by building Matthews

In the run-up to Sunday's Super Bowl, The Post-Crescent of Appleton, 30 miles southwest of ground zero for Wisconsin's Green Bay Packers, is publishing a seven-part profile of linebacker Clay Matthews -- with a twist. Appleton's circulation: Monday through Friday, 39,781; Saturday, 47,073; Sunday, 56,541. Here's today's front page:

  3. Appleton has always been the most innovative paper in the Gannett group in that state. This is a great idea...

  4. It is a great idea (except I never understood who would want a poster made out of newsprint), but let's see if this kind of top-notch work is possible with the design hubs.

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
