The deadline has now passed for employees to apply for 150 buyouts at the Detroit Free Press, The Detroit News, and at the joint operating agency publishing the two dailies. I don't know whether that means all 150 have been taken. There might be more -- or less, which was the case at USA Today late last year. The paper sought 45 volunteers, but wound up settling for 43. (I was one.)
