By the numbers | The lines on USAT's Twittergate

USA Today's unpaid sports handicapper Danny Sheridan is denying allegations that he paid to boost his Twitter followers to nearly 400,000 from only 11,000 just four weeks ago. Some key numbers:

number Twitter followers Sheridan claims

followers of USAT itself

followers of USAT Sports

followers of Publisher Larry Kramer

  1. Two days after I first posted on this subject, Sheridan's total followers have soared another 10%, to a current total of 424,672.

Obviously, something very strange is going on here.

  2. Pence is a fun character, but his play is infuriating at times. He would have likely had a better season If Utley and Howard were in the lineup the whole year.
