PointRoll | This is for your news and comments

Amid a "town hall" employee meeting today, I've created this thread exclusively for Gannett's digital ad services subsidiary.

  1. Awfully quiet in here. Did the Fort Washington whiners finally realize there's few options outside PointRoll for them in the area and decide to keep their mouths shut and heads down?

  2. I am sure the town hall focused on new strategies for PointRoll employees. Sell more and don't make mistakes on fulfillment.

  3. 4:28, there are lots of options in the philadelphia area. Many great companies in the digital space. Exchanges, ecomm plays, monetate, razorfish, cadient, digitas, sidecar, qliktech, G2, and many more. Pointrollers have many options.

  4. News of more sales departures today as another top producing sales rep has left building. Sarah Ripmaster has made it clear she will fire anyone looking for a job. Thats funny since our CEO tells us we should be looking for new jobs becuase he tells us he is leaving after his bonus is paid and that hopefully Gannett will just fire him and pay him his bonus. We all think Sarah should take her own advice we all know she is looking herself. Most of the west coast team has already called Andy Ellenthal at DG to look for work.

  5. The place is a total disaster. Gannett has their investigators hovering all over the King of Priussia office.

Rob and Sarah might not be here that long. Seems like they found the smoking gun!

Maybe when Sarah comes back from her 6 month sabbatical we will figure out her plan for sales.

  6. To the person that posted that there are lots of jobs for Pointrollers in the area, There has been many of us who have interviewed with these companies and unfortunately we get shot down because these companies are calling SARIDAKIS for references.

I am amazed at how much influence he still has on our business and on our careers. Who ever pissed him off is totally paying for it because every client, every employee and every local company is some how connected to his network and his word has some serious weight.

Pointroll has a bad rapt now and only top people are able to find jobs where they totally get out of the industry.

  7. 10:38 - Are you saying Chris Saridakis is intentionally giving a negative reference to anyone from PointRoll? Why would he do that? If that is true that is really sad. Chris is worth millions, enough money that he never has to work another day in his life and here he is making it impoosible for the very people who worked at PointRoll under him to earn a living. These are the people who worked hard at pointroll and helped him earn some of those millions and now he is bashing them with negative references behind their backs. Saridakis should be ashamed of himself if this is true. It's a disgrace.

  8. Saridakis has no tolerance for anyone who is complacent and has stayed at PointRoll knowing its a sinking ship.

  9. I guess Chris did learn something from Gannett - meanness.

  10. I recently left Pointroll for another company and I was amazed out how interconnected Saridakis is within the digital space.

He practically is an investor in many of the companies that we have all been interviewing at. If anyone mentions the word "Pointroll", 99% of the time they will say "oh, I know Chris" or "He is an investor of our company".

I interviewed at 3 different companies and as I got to the final rounds, each company asked if they could call "Chris for a reference".

I hate to say it, but he has unbelievable influence. Everyone at Pointroll knows this from East to West because we all talk about it and compare notes.

I do think Saridakis has his favorites, but most of them have already left Pountroll.

  11. Saridakis always gives me great advice...
If you were a rock star at Pointroll you have nothing to worry about, Chris will give you an honest reference.

  12. It is funny that Saridakis has been out of Pointroll since 2007 and he left Gannett in early 2012 YET we still talk about him on this blog. Amazing. Clearly he has some "influence".

Look, the guy is a billionaire not because he is stupid. He surrounds himself with smart people who work their asses off and end up doing well themselves.

I am sure he has incredible influence in an industry that neither Pointroll nor Gannett has any knowledge of.

  14. FYI Pointroll hasn't been located in Ft. Washington for several years and other funny points throughout these posts show people just trying to stir something up for their amusement. i bet none of these posts are actual pointroll employees.

  15. If current pointroll employees were smart, they would be looking to leave. The entire management team is looking - that's a fact. They can't find jobs because they screwed up pointroll so bad and burned so many bridges. You think Saridakis will give them a reference? You have a better chance of seeing God. They are screwed, and the poor folks who don't get out NOW will be sinking with them. Pointroll has a bad reputation.

  16. Ft. Washington...Are you kidding. Move on from there. Pointroll is falling apart and we all know it. Sarah and Rob and the rest of the management team are checked out.

Saridakis left, made a shit load of money...not once, twice or three times, but many times even beyond Pointroll. I am sure he doesn't give a shit about Pointroll anymore.

  17. Speaking of checked out, I heard the "town hall" was a complete joke. No one believes or respects this management team - why do you think people would listen to them? I was told Rob actually asked if anyone heard any rumors and wanted to talk about them? Seriously? Rumors are rampant, but sure, let's talk about Sarah being MIA. Rob still working with AK and trying to secure a future with them, etc., etc,

I am a current PR employee in sales. I am planning to leave for two reasons. 1. The people I enjoyed working with have moved on or were let go 2. The PR product sucks.
I want to sell something I believe in. My resume is out there and if you want to fire me for that Sarah go for it. You've already lost most of your sales team in the past 3 months and no one in their right mind would join this sinking ship.

  19. The only reason why Sarah stick around and they are afraid to fire her is because she talks a big game about knowing the Ford family.

Seems like that relationship is running out as Ford is moving to another rich media partner and away from Pointroll.

For those of you who do not know, Pointroll s top client is FORD. They account for over 20% OF REVENUE.

Seems like it might NOW be time for Sarah to leave Pointroll. Or maybe she will take another vacation for 6 months and live in a cabin and explore herself.

  20. There are a lot of whistleblowers that have ratted to Gracia about all the bad things going on at Pointroll. If I find you I will fire you!!!
