Pulitzer Prize winners to watch for on Monday

Journalism's top honors are to be announced Monday at 3 p.m. ET. But other than The Arizona Republic, I don't see any Gannett papers mentioned among the Poynter Institute's story about possible winners.

  1. I believe the Arizona Republic has done well in national contests for its coverage of the Gabby Giffords shooting.

  2. It has been a runnerup in breaking news and a winner for non-breaking narrative writing. Hardly a long list of national kudos.
If you only knew what a trainwreck it was that day in the newsroom, especially on the part of upper managers...

  3. Being on that committee must not be an easy job these days. Good reporting takes time, money and people; not something most papers are willing to do anymore.

  4. The APP's series about Barnegat Bay and efforts to clean it up is worthy of consideration, imo.

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
