WUSA | Reporter quits teen-age drinking story after her own teenagers are said to be threatened

Andrea McCarren said viewer comments at the CBS affiliate in Washington started out being nasty, then grew outright threatening toward her two teen-age children, online and in school.

"The volume and intensity of the backlash became so overwhelming last week," The Washington Post reported yesterday, "that McCarren and WUSA decided on an extraordinary step: She would pull herself off the air and hand her latest teen-drinking story to her colleague."

  1. Brave, good reporting. Tough outcome for reporter.
