The videos trumpet Sunday newspapers, which have received a big circulation push for more than a year now. Here's one added to Gannett's YouTube channel, about The Des Moines Register. Posted a week ago, it's been viewed only five times, as I write this -- perhaps in part because GCI doesn't let publishers embed the video on other sites.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

You know what, kids? I really like the Sunday ads. They are all about JOURNALISM. No BS about platforms and web hits. Just pure journalism.
ReplyDeleteI do like the Gannett Sunday Experience video where it looks like they are reading the Sunday paper all day. I stopped getting our local Gannett paper because I was done reading all of the local Sunday stories by the end of breakfast.
ReplyDeleteWhat the heck is Des Moines Register|Media? I didn't realize they had radio and TV in the building?
ReplyDeleteMost Gannett newspaper sites have changed their names to include the word "media."
ReplyDeleteMedia encompasses print, online and mobile -- rather than newspaper alone.
