I am getting unemployment and cannot find work so I am on Medicaid for one year, and then I have to recertify. At least the government is giving ME something now.
ReplyDeleteI am a former Gannett employee who left nearly 4 years ago. I found a company where I pay NOTHING for health care...I cannot tell you what a huge impact that is!
ReplyDeleteThankfully, I am on my spouse's insurance. I shudder when I hear horror stories about what my co-workers pay. One woman, pregnant with twins, was having contractions at five months, on a Saturday. She didn't want to go to the emergency room since it would have cost $200 out of her pocket. She waited until Monday to see her doctor. It all turned out OK, but really.
ReplyDeleteEx GCI w/15 years and tossed aside. I found a job where excellent health and dental care costs me $46 a month with a very low deductible and $10 prescription co-pay. Salary is not that great, but this makes up for it.
ReplyDeleteRestructured last August. Pay $428/mo under COBRA with the federal subsidy for family coverage. About what I was paying while employed. When the subsidy runs out, I am f#@ked.
