Green Bay | Recalling a reporter who died at 38

In a touching video, staff at Gannett's Green Bay Press-Gazette have shared memories of their colleague, Andy Nelesen, who died Jan. 28; he was only 38 years old. Nelesen was a reporter and photographer for the Wisconsin paper since December 1996. "He was at work, in the newsroom, when a blood vessel burst in his brain on Jan. 25,'' the paper says. Nelesen died 2½ days later.

  2. What a heart-felt tribute to a colleague and more importantly to a friend. Thanks Jim for providing the link. To Andy's family and those that worked with him, I am sorry for your loss. A lot of people, me included, should take a cue from his tenacity and work-place manner. Truly a classy guy.

  5. Andy was "a good shit". Respected by his beat for fairness and accuracy, respected by his peers as you can tell from the video.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
