Style | New bylines, in the age of ContentOne

[Name game: It's no longer, 'By Author/Gannett News Service']

Corporate renamed Gannett News Service a year ago, handing it a new mission and brand: ContentOne. But that was too unwieldy for use in author's bylines for former GNS writers. In the examples I've run across, the affiliation has been truncated to just one word: Gannett. (Example, above, from USA Today.)

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
