Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

Anybody here have any experiences of getting thrown under the bus by managers of the New Jersey group? If so, would love to hear them.
ReplyDeleteBuilding news, you fuckstains! Time is running out!
ReplyDeleteWithout the blog, we are totally at the mercy of the pigs!
ReplyDelete2:21 PM Yes, this is so true. The CN/HNT are being trampled by AT, SH,PG,JC,JJC....just to start the list!
ReplyDeleteNow, when people at our sister papers are thrown to the wolves, we will just have to wait to hear it through the rumor mill.
Yay Gus!
ReplyDeleteI say we make "Gannett Blog 2: Son of Jim" to keep the forum going.
ReplyDeleteBeing thrown under the bus by manaagement at any Gannett paper let alone the ones in NJ. Are you kidding? This is standard practice and must be a requirement for any "manager" to get hired, promoted or remain at one of these NJ papers. These people do this to protect themselves and cover up for their incompetence. They don't give a crap about any employee just themselves. I've seen this dozens of times at the Courier post and it goes on every day and will contnue to go on.
ReplyDeleteive seen it done at the
ReplyDeletecourier post as well.
3:14, what is this "yay gus" crap?
ReplyDeleteThrown under the bus? Certainy! We have tire tracks on our bodies!
ReplyDeleteWithout being specific about any individual, we have been exposed to:
1. Sarcasm and cutting remarks.
2. Lack of appreciation for
performance which only makes
the manager(s) look good.
3. Stealing of our ideas for
improving things and giving
us no credit for them.
4. Sending us snarky emails which
would only be read after the
manager left for vacation.
5. Never apologizing for errors,
but bringing in pizza or ice
cream instead.
6. Disappearing for long periods
of time but docking staff for
being ten minutes late because
of traffic.
Anyone who guesses the identity of this manager gets a "Hello Kitty" bandage for his/her injuries.
Say something NJ fucktards!
ReplyDeleteJim,
ReplyDeleteSince you were a reporter, why don't you write a book about your Gannett/Gannett blog experience? Wouldn't that piss corporate off!
What about fanagled timesheets? Has the state attorney general been around?

Make a copy of your time sheet, and don't leave the original in your desk drawer. I keep mine with me at all times, till I have to hand it in. And then I make a copy of it before turning it in.
