Does anyone have the latest (just released) circ numbers for the NJ papers. Of course, these papers don't provide their employees with the real numbers and tend to lie to their advertisers.
ReplyDeleteLots of folks on furcation so the NJ site will be quiet.
ReplyDeleteWell, what about the mess in East Brunswick regarding the firing of two advertising reps? It was mentioned yesterday, and everyone wants to know what's happening. No one from the HNT came forward with the story. Was A.T. breathing over your shoulders?
ReplyDeletewhere's EJ?
ReplyDelete2.06 fired or laid off?
ReplyDeleteAre any other NJ papers experiencing ad sales people firings? There a plenty including management who should go
ReplyDeletewho was let go from HNT?
ReplyDeleteWould have been nice if they had mentioned the people who were laid off today in the Weekly Buzz newsletter at the HNT. They really should have thanked them for years of service. Would that have been too much to ask, to say thank you as they were booted out the door? No, I'm not one of them. Just one of the people sad to see them go.
ReplyDeletewhat are the initials of those who were laid off?
ReplyDelete3 inside reps were quietly let go from the Somerville office, one at a time, over the period of 2 months. Their positions were eliminated.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been nice if the Weekly Buzz had mentioned the hard-working members of the Circulation Dept at the APP who are being laid off effective Sunday. These are the true unsung heroes. They made sure that the Home Delivery subs received their papers every day. The Keyport, Neptune and Navesink Distribution Centers and their employees are gone effective Sunday. The APP Distribution Center in Neptune is being leased to a company called PCF which is a delivery company. The employees being let go include the warehouse workers and DM's who over the years worked extremely hard for this company. These are the workers who were looked down upon by the elite of the APP. These are the workers who took pride in giving the subscribers quality customer service, trying to cater to handicapped and elderly readers. These are the workers who made sure that an elderly or handicapped subscriber received papers inside doors and on tables etc. And these are the workers who on their last days received no thanks.
ReplyDeleteAn outside sales person was let go from the courier post last week. Hopefully this signals the publisher of this paper has realized there is plenty of dead wood there led by the director.
ReplyDeleteOf course Gannett won't mark the (forced) departure of longtime employees. It's a disgrace they'd rather not bring to the fore (one among many).
ReplyDeleteAndria Thorpe, you know you want to have me deleted.
