Crowdsource | What do you know about Charan?

Has he been seen in or around The 11th Floor? From his website:

Ram Charan is a highly acclaimed speaker and advisor. He is the coauthor of Execution and the author of What the CEO Wants You to Know, and many other books. A noted expert on business strategy, Ram has coached some of the world's most successful CEOs, and for more than 35 years has worked behind the scenes at companies like General Electric, KLM, Bank of America, DuPont, Novartis, EMC, Dell and Verizon, helping them to develop and implement their strategic direction.

  1. He has been advising Mr. Dubow on corporate leadership. Mr. Charan has held many brainstorming sessions with the vp's and above.

Some of us have spent many hours in a large group with Mr. Charan.

Tom Curley invited him to speak to the 200 or so attendees of the USA TODAY leadership program in 1997. Apparently Curley and a few others maintained a long-running relationship with Cheran afterwards, but have not seen him at 7950.

  3. I was part of the '97 sessions; he spent the better part of a day with our group.

Ram is a great guy and smart as hell. If we are listening to him we are doing welll. And he has been connected to 7950 several years ago but perhaps wasn't actually in the building.

  4. Great reputation. Hard to believe that he’d condone tolerating Gannett’s well-known people skills…that is, if he actually was told the real story about how some this company’s “finest” leaders run their operations. If not, then the company is likely wasting its money and his time.

  5. He looks real familiar. I'm pretty sure he's the guy who owns the 7-11 in my neighborhood.

Maybe he knows something you don't know. He's probably smarter than you.
