We're organizing the 2010 inaugural Gannett Blog Thurston J. and Lovey Howell III Pro-Am Charity Golf Tournament, in this southern California winter resort popular among Gannett executives (hi, Bob!) and gay men like Mr. Rhinestones himself, still-dead entertainer Liberace (left).
Critics don't waste your time: Sparky and I leave before producer Jeffrey Sanker's famous White Party this weekend, a top stage on the gay social circuit. (You never know, though: I might come back!)
Posted from my iPhone; updates later. Post your snarky replies in the comments section, below, please!

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

You had some interesting photos from your time at Spanish parties... anything remotely similar in Palm Springs?

ReplyDeleteMaybe you'll run into the Az Republic editor - he and his partner still have a condo there
ReplyDeleteI do hope you've invited Craig and Bob and Gracia to play.
ReplyDeleteApparently some comments were a little TOO snarky ...
ReplyDeleteL6:32 pm: Fun foursome on furlough paid with company dough, stockholders none the wiser!
ReplyDelete7:11 pm: I offer some of blogging's most liberal commenting privileges. But they are privileges -- not rights.
Comments I remove reflect views of authors who would rather piggyback on my blog than do the hard work required in building an audience of their own.

ReplyDeleteJim:
ReplyDeleteIf we play in the tournament, are we bound by USGA rules, or can we take a furlough form the rules for a day?
One other thing, Jim, no ringers allowed in this tournament. You know the type, they yuk it up in the clubhouse and hack it all over the place on the driving range, then they get out on the course and shoot a 68 or 72 or some other ridiculous score.
ReplyDeleteWe want video!
