"Facebook is a modern day Rolodex,'' the Silicon Valley gossip site quotes a Gannett Blog reader saying, then adds: "Exactly, and if those infernal tele-phones had never been given out like candy to individual reporters, maybe newspapers would be in better shape today!"

    I'm young and resisted the social networking thing for a long time. Just got on there a month ago and am wondering WHY on earth I ever resisted it! I find out so much news related to friends and others.
