Noon, San Francisco time: Posting a photo of the back storage area at Four Barrel Coffee, a newish coffee roaster in San Francisco's Valencia Street hipster haven. Four Barrel gets extra coolness points for: A) Having a vertical indoor bike rack (circled, inset photo) for commuting employees. B) Being but steps from Love Shack, one of San Francisco's finer legal purveyors of medical marijuana.
In his Yelp review, Jimmy W. (not me!) gave the dispensary five stars: "Love Shack is the shit. The guys who work there are so chill, especially the older bald gentleman. Their OG is L.A. quality, which is saying a lot coming from a SoCal native."

Not a GCI-related comment, but not a GCI-related topic, either. So, I'll bite.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why the hell the feds don't come in and bust all these places. Federal drug law trumps state law. You want this legal in your state? Get the federal law changed, either to allow distribution nationwide, or to allow relevant state law to preempt federal regulations.
Oh, I forgot: CA is looking to drug money to get itself out of the monstrous deficit hole it's in. Well, I guess that makes everything okay...
States' rights, maybe? Or have social conservatives abandoned that tenet, too?
ReplyDeleteyou just lost major credibility points; not for the pot reference which is sincerely appreciated but for the deviation from the purpose of the blog. You do way to many of these off the cuff what I'm doing now things. If you don't have anything to say, don't say anything!
ReplyDeleteStates' rights? Sure! Does that mean that Roe v. Wade is vacated?
ReplyDeleteSorry, you can't have it both ways.
Err... Wrong, state law trumps the Feds.
ReplyDeleteAlso, what the hell is so wrong with pot? I've never read or heard of someone killing someone in a stoned rage.
Have you?
Bull-oney
ReplyDeleteAnything that starts with "social" is a way of promoting Federal government over State government.
Current laws regarding MJ, have nothing to do with the illegality of the substance, and more to do with it's supposed effects on Interstate commerce.
DEA raids these places, and steals the product, usually not making any arrests. What happens to the goods? I'll let you decide.
Frankly raiding these places violates the 10th amendment.
You want states to exercise sovereignty? Look for a constitutional conservative.
20 states are re-exerting their local influence this year by passing resolutions that pretty much say HEY!, back off FEDS!
Not much media coverage of this. WHY?
Because they are also saying the same thing to this new socialist administration.
And the media is still in love with Obama.
what were you doing in the back storage area? Or with whom?
