Monday Recap: We're in a Barack Obama-rama!

Posts you might have missed last week, while we revealed the benefit only publishers are granted.

Gannett took ContentOne for a test drive, deploying the web wire to anchor online coverage of President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration for all 85 newspapers. Meanwhile, Freedom Forum documents painted a portrait of the journalism foundation giving years of cradle-to-grave support to charities near founder Al Neuharth's Florida home. Plus, rumors flew that Gannett might soon mandate one-week unpaid vacations in the current quarter for all U.S. newspaper workers, as part of another payroll reduction.

  1. Wonder how many people will decide to take part in history and hand over $25 for one of the congratulations Obama ads?

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
