And if CEO Craig Dubow does meet with Asheville Citizen-Times employees today, as a reader suggested, could you please tell us what you hear from him? Last Friday in Louisville, Ky., and in Cincinnati, Dubow told employees about another round of layoffs.

Hope everyone cleaned the dust off your desk and emptied the trash cans. And for god sake clean the mens bathroom.
ReplyDeleteEveryone wearing a tie today I hope. Remember a tie makes you more productive. And ladies, no dresses above the ankle. LOL
As for The Man showing up. When he does remain cool and no loud outburst from the peanut gallery.
No sign of him today
ReplyDeleteThe visit was cancelled last week, proof that the bloggers who post here are spreading unsubstantiated rumors and are not privy to insider info.
ReplyDeleteProof? Hardly. It just means that sourcing inside that newspaper is dry right now. The fact is, plenty of "rumors" and tips on this site eventually pan out.
ReplyDeleteIf the visit was cancelled last week, why would management allow their employees to worry about it over the weekend and waste time watching the parking lot for visitors Monday and Tuesday. (you know it happened!)
ReplyDeleteWhy? because for all their talk about moving to a digital platform, they still don't understand that they need to fundamentally change their own thinking.
The word was out, sure it was on this blog rather than their own official communication, but it was out all the same. If the meeting was cancelled, why not say it.
They are breeding distrust among their own managers and employees. IF this company turns the corner, the remaining employees will remember and will be that much more likely to believe the promisses of a union organizer.
If I make it till then, I know which way I will go, at least that organizer hasn't lied to me, yet...
Don't mention Union at the Asheville paper or you will get your walking papers. Be careful.
ReplyDeleteI heard they allegedly pay one guy to walk around the building so he can Smoke and drink coffee. LOL
Dubow did come to Cincinnati.
