Bridezilla II: 'Jilted' ex-Gannett HR director talks!

Updated at 12:10 p.m. ET: Former Pensacola News Journal human resources chief RoseMary Shell also talked to NBC's Today about her $150,000 jury award Wednesday. Shell had sued her ex-fiance for breach of contract after he canceled their engagement last year. She told Today's Meredith Vieira: "I felt like justice was really done."

Shell's breach of contract suit revealed her pay in Pensacola, Fla., where she worked for a short time in 2006, before following her fiance to Gainesville, Ga. Shell now makes $31,000 a year at North Georgia College & State University. Here she is in an earlier interview, via The Associated Press.

  1. Wonder if Gannett felt jilted after she left the Pensacola job after just a matter of weeks.

Justice is a murderer going to prison.

This is someone just trying to pay their bills.

  2. i think Gannett is much better off without her....sounds like she is a parasite.....not to mention her attorney.....she sure was coached well on her answers....

  3. It will be reversed on appeal; the doctrine of detrimental reliance cannot be applied in these situations as the appellate panel will write in its opinion. Now that she has shown her litigious side, many will pass on her talents and skills. If this stands, extra wings will be built on justice centers just to hear the jilted caseload.

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
