Hot Off the Press: Des Moines Register floods

Yesterday morning's Register; click on the image for a bigger view. I just noticed the paper now has a breaking news blog, where it's reporting the latest developments in floods that are roiling the state.

Gannett's Iowa City Press-Citizen doesn't appear in the Newseum database, so I can't show that paper's front pages. But you can see its own aggressive flood coverage, online.

  1. I think that's good coverage... But they are lucky they manage their own site. I believe some of the smaller Gannett newspapers have to ship to content off to somewhere, there's a long time delay.. basically impossible to cover big breaking news on a web site with that arrangement.. any one have any idea how many gannett papers don't control the web site in-house (i assume it's many of the smaller ones)

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
