Slow traffic ahead: Memorial Day and the Internet

In my home state of Rhode Island, Memorial Day traditionally marked the start of beach-going season. Families headed for the shore, opening beach houses for another summer away from scorching city temperatures. These days, I know something else that starts this weekend: Internet traffic begins falling, and remains low during much of the summer, as more people vacation and stay away from the Web. This will be my first summer Gannett blogging, so it'll be interesting to see what happens to traffic here.

Interesting photo. Take a look at this link and scroll toward bottom.
Same photo, but credited to Eric Thayer for NY Times.
I couldn't find it on Gawker, so I don't know how they labled it.
