Photos Gannett news staffers fear the most

[Transformation: Another Cube, by Martin Gee]

Alarmed by endless job cuts, a San Jose Mercury News designer shot photos of the Silicon Valley paper's increasingly empty newsroom, then published them on a Flickr Reduction In Force page, Editor & Publisher says. The News, once one of the nation's best regional papers, was sold to Gannett partner MediaNews Group after Knight Ridder's 2006 sale. MediaNews is now slowly dismantling the News.

  7. Several floors at McLean, VA look like that! EMPTY!! In fact some employees have gotten really creative and have taken down some cubes and turned them into lounge areas!

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones.
