Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

Keep guessing on the bad haircuts....
ReplyDeleteIf I hadda go poops, where is da toilet paper? Or do I wipe with the newspaper?
ReplyDeletePleeze clean da bathroom, too. Wipe da floor with da newspaper.

ReplyDeleteNo CN delivery and no redelivery all week, thanks to PCF. Nothing - despite phone calls, e-mail and lots of promises from customer service.
ReplyDeleteBERNICE....What do you mean "No Delivery All Week??"
ReplyDeleteI one of the Soon-to-be-Erstwhile (May3rd) Home Delivery "Managers" from Neptune-Keyport-Navesink.
Is there some PROBLEM?? It could explain the dour looks on the PCF people's faces.
Bad haircut. Hummmm so many. I pick Skippy the modern day Eddie Munster look. Anyone knows what Gary does at the APP now that he doesn't have to follow Skippy around nod and laugh at his jokes?
ReplyDeleteYeah Erwin, Gary runs the paper. There's some bald-headed guy in the EE office, but nobody knows who he is or what he does.
ReplyDeleteBernice
ReplyDeletePCF has areas they will NOT deliver to. Hopefully you are not in one of those areas.
Wonder of wonders, I got a phone call from PCF this morning and later an actual newspaper! Must be the power of Gannett Blog.
ReplyDeletethe word "fuktard" is offensive to
ReplyDeletemiddle management at the
courier post! :o)
Someone please tell gary to start having people who know how to construct sentences to read the copy of his pet reporter.
ReplyDeleteIt's becoming embarassing.
STOP using the word "Fuktards." It is offensive because it also appears on so many of the birth certificates of NJ middle management and the so-called "management"!!!
ReplyDelete10:51, how much longer will gary be running the paper with Skip back in Neptune calling all the shots again? And don't say he's not. Please spare us the bullshit.
ReplyDeleteThose of us with brains know better.
"It's becoming embarassing."
ReplyDeleteYou should get someone who knows how to spell to help you construct words.
What a fuktard.
2:41 -- If you mean the guy in sports, you're right.
ReplyDelete3:06 -- There are anger management seminars available that will help you quell the need to nitpick to maintain the illusion you have even achieved adequacy.
APP stuff:
ReplyDeleteWho is Gary and who is his pet?
Is Skippy, as at least some here call him, coming back as publisher?
Skippy,
ReplyDeleteWill you be at the board of directors meeting? Will you say anything or just smile or something? I want to know.
Nice haircut, nice shirt.
Who is Skippy? Is he the peanut butter person?
ReplyDeleteSkip: William C. Hidlay, president and publisher of the Home News Tribune and Courier News.
ReplyDeleteHe goes by the nickname "Skip."
His e-mail name is "shidlay" rather than "whidlay."
When he came to the APP, there were any number of people who wondered why a grown man would want to be called "Skip."
The Asbury Park Press = Sailboat be sinking. Right, Gary?
ReplyDeleteIf things were equal, these mangement bullies would be little wimps. But they have the corporation to fall back on, lean against or whatever. Why am I anonymous? Because I do not have the corp behind me.
ReplyDeleteAnybody know if the Skipster is going to the board of directors meeting?
ReplyDeleteGary, man or mouse?
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised Skip doesn't have the comments deleted about him. Anytime AT has a negative comment posted about her she has it deleted and she says no one should be reading/writing on this blog. She must be reading it. Maybe she can clue the Skipper in to the crap being written about him cause if their was anybody who doesn't deserve the bad rap its him.
ReplyDeleteGood evening, A.T.! Just read that you do your best to get negative comments about you removed. Sorry, Toots! I just can't think of one good comment after all these years!
ReplyDelete2:41 PM, are you talking about EL? At least he leaves no uncertainty about his own political opinions of the people he reports on. Meoooow.
ReplyDelete"Why am I anonymous? Because I do not have the corp behind me."
ReplyDeleteOr a spine.
3 pm, if you had anything but shit for brains, you'd know Skip is not back in Neptune.
ReplyDeleteWhat an asswipe you are.
where's EJ?
ReplyDelete10:46, you are right -- Skip is not back in Neptune.
ReplyDeleteNot yet.
But if the combining of the editorial into a "regional production hub" (as happened in Ithaca) happens in NJ then there will be no need for different puhblishers and presidents or separate EEs.
Think of the money Gannett could save by cutting these top positions.
Of course it will mean a horrendous workload for the people remaining, but when did that ever affect a Ganett decision?
Is Skippy going to the board of directors meeting?
ReplyDeleteBuilding news, asswipes! Where is it?
ReplyDeletethe word "asswipe" is offensive to
ReplyDeletemanagement at the courier post! :o)
NEW JERSEY ROCKS!
ReplyDeleteAnd The Papers make
good fly swatters.
C-N home delivery all week has been normal in my neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteThat said, the C-N has continued to distinguish itself. Samples from the big Sunday edition:
Front-page rip-off -- "The Superior Sandwich Search is on", aping the Munchmobile featured in the Star-Ledger.
Brushed off the splendid weather -- 85 degrees and everybody outside. Mentioned in passing in a story about a festival in Lambertville (a town outside the C-N area).
Half-fast on the NFL draft on the front page of sports. Kenny Britt of Rutgers to the Titans in the 1st round -- below the fold. Mark Sanchez to the Jets in the 1st round -- light-face headline below the fold. Largest picture was of Matthew Stafford -- an old story by the time the draft began.
Hit job on the Jets for not holding their training camp in New Jersey. A major embarrassment for the C-N -- Mark Sanchez (see above) is the lead sports story in the New York area this Sunday.
For a chaser the C-N finally reports on the empty seats in the new Yankee Stadium -- long after that became national news.

My Balls have been really tight and they itch really bad ! Could this be an issue with the building. Or maybe I caught something @ a MetroMix function
ReplyDelete10:46, if he's not back in Neptune it's just a matter of time.
ReplyDeleteHe was the one conducing the interviews for the regional jobs. By all accounts, Hollis and Gary sat quietly while Skip asked all the questions.
Unless you're saying that was his ghost. I guess that was the same ghost seen wandering the halls earlier this week, as well.
I love it when people resort to name-calling. It just means I'm right.
Correction to above: Largest picture on sports front is of Eugene Monroe, who went to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round. The C-N played that up because Monroe played his high school ball in Plainfield.
ReplyDeleteStill, that's not an excuse for being half-fast when it comes to draft coverage.
BTW Kenny Britt is the first player from Rutgers ever to go in the first round -- a fact mentioned not in the C-N but in the New York Daily News.

ReplyDeleteAndrea, stop lying about CN's paid circ. You know it's going to slam you in the a$$ harder than Gill Brippo ever could.
ReplyDeleteCarol Hunter to the rescue!
ReplyDeleteAT: delete THIS!
ReplyDeleteBuilding news, liquid shit drinkers!
ReplyDelete" NEW JERSEY ROCKS "
