Assuming the webcast works, I'll be live-blogging top brass' presentation early this afternoon to New York media stock analysts. Kick-off is about 12:45 p.m. ET. My pre-game snarky remarks start 12:30-ish. Gannett has promised a webcast from the company's site.
What to expect? First: I don't know whether that analyst will attend. Newly appointed newspaper division President Robert Dickey will probably talk. His retiring predecessor, Sue Clark-Johnson, will continue her victory lap (assuming she shows). The real estate meltdown will take the fall for a lot of stuff. Plus, expect analysts to ask again if Gannett will spin off its digital businesses. Safe prediction: CEO Craig Dubow says no, we're sticking to the strategic plan.
Let's hope management doesn't sleepwalk its way through this appearance, the way it did three months ago at the UBS conference.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
