Honolulu union flexes blogging muscle

Bloggers at the Honolulu Advertiser went on strike last week in protest of Gannett-proposed changes to their union contract. It was the first-ever blog strike, the Newspaper Guild and the Communications Workers of America, told The New York Times, according to Editor & Publisher. The strike helped bring Gannett back to negotiations. (Sorry for the delay in reporting this, Honolulu; I'm still catching up on post-vacation stuff.)

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
