ESPN is paying $150,000 to $350,000 a year to some former print reporters, the New York Times says today, as the network and Yahoo Sports embark on "a furious hiring binge, offering reporters and columnists more than they ever imagined they could make in journalism." (Note to self: You're in the wrong business; better learn something about sports reporting.)The hiring spree comes as buyouts cost USA Today its entire NBA coverage team this month, along with 40 other newsroom staffers.
