    1. I understand other advertising /online reps have been eliminated in other Gannett markets as well. What does this say about the future of newspapers and digital?

    2. In the world of Gannett, I don't think it means anything to digital. This company fires people all the time, regardless of their worth to vital operations.

    3. I've added those two Shreveport jobs to this spreadsheet, which is tracking site-by-site job cuts during October and November (and December, if necessary).

    1. If you go on the Gannett benefits site and go to the enrollment process it will show you. I saw mine just for myself it was $444.00 with a $1500 dollar deductable!

    2. I recently received a packet on the new health plan which said that retirees will be notified by mail by mid-November on premiums.

    3. So did I but it will show you on the website what your Jan 2014 payment will be if you go through the enrollment process. You can go through it and not enroll to see your new premium

    4. If you are not yet retired but want to see the options, you cannot view retiree benefits until open enrollment closes. Go figure! So benefits are $440 for the employee only benefit?

    5. Yes for employee only retired it is $444.00. That is what it shows for me. I wonder if that is standard for all retirees.

  3. Have to wonder ehat the Gsnnett directive is now for cutting employees by year end. And howmmich management bonuses are contingent on cost containment.

  4. Do you think they'll cut people before the end of the year or after? There have been a lot of management meetings with the doors closed lately.

    1. All cuts will be made before the end of the year so that they can start the new year fresh.

  5. Still really no broadcasters out there commenting. Are there layoffs occurring on that side of the business? Many closed door meetings there?

    2. And that's a good thing! If one retires from Gannett, what are the benefits over just calling it quits?

Gannett likes to preach "diversity" yet practices rampant sexism. The News-Press in Fort Myers had a story about a man being charged with giving HIV to two women. WTSP.com in Tampa Bay picked it up and added a clickbait photo of ... wait for it ... "Cheerleaders in Pink!" This also shows Gannett has a fetish for nearly naked women.

Remember that the next time someone is arrested on rape or domestic violence charges.

  12. It won't let me reply to 3:27 with the comment so I will post here: What are the initials of the people let go? Curious if they were people I know because few if any are left of my years there. In the spirit of the season (a little early) ... You're a mean one, Mr. Gannett!
