In code, it's Hummingbird vs. Caffeine vs. Butterfly

Google unveiled a big revamp of its search engine today that affects 90% of the company's search results worldwide. The project's internal code name: Hummingbird.

Three years ago, according to USA Today, the search giant changed the system through an upgrade called Caffeine.

And now, of course, there's Gannett's just-launched Butterfly.
