Scrolling down through one of USA Today's stories about the actress Angelina Jolie's revelation today that she had had a cancer-deterring preventive double mastectomy, I noticed an unfortunate "more stories" link at the bottom: "Kate Moss shows no tan lines," illustrated with a photo of an apparently nude Moss.

Oh come on! So what?
ReplyDeleteRidiculous story.
Yet I find such incongruity laughable for professionals. Like running airfare ads next to a story about a plane crash. I guess that's how low "professional" has sunk, where one doesn't see anything wrong with this.
DeleteStay classy, Callaway!
DeleteUSA Today is a piece of crap. Sorry to be so inarticulate, but the nation's newspaper and website have been taken over by morons. From ridiculous story selection right through the editing and layout process, it's clear that USAT has seen better days. Total trash publication targeted to readers who embrace the dumbing down of America. In fact, of the Gannett papers I am familiar with, it's one of the worst in the chain. It's painfully obvious what's going on there.
ReplyDeleteSo 6pm when Ghost Factories is nominated for a Pulitzer what will you say "lucky?" You are a hater plain and simple
DeleteGhost Factories was published last year, and it was not nominated for a Pulitzer.
DeleteJim:
Delete@12:57 said "when" it is nominated, not that it was. Get your fact in line.
I agree with the first poster: so what?
A project published in 2012 is only eligible for Pulitzers for that year's competition, and the results were announced just last month.
DeleteThere will be no when.
My point still stands. The poster did not say it had won. The poster is also correct in their other assumption.

ReplyDeleteHey, Anonymous 1:08/4:09,
ReplyDeleteGet out much?
What is that supposed to mean? Do you?
DeleteI'm sure USAT nominated Ghost Factories for a Pulitzer, but that's about as far as it got. It wasn't a finalist, let alone a winner. You know why? It was old news all prettied up with fancy technology. Yeah, it won some awards from people who were impressed with the packaging. But have you heard of it having any kind of major impact on society? I don't think so.
