Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

ReplyDeleteWhat a high-minded and classy discussion. And so respectful of people who happen to have management positions -- which of course they don't deserve because they are idiots compared to those here making fun of them. By name.
ReplyDeleteThe blog at its best -- a voice for those without a clue.
i happen to have a clue when it comes to the Shreveport community. The paper has become a joke and the fact that Don didn't last long hasn't helped matters. It solidified what this community believes.....the paper is hopeless.
Delete6:02 has been very busy trashing any Gannetteers who speak out about problems corporate should address, rather than ignore.
ReplyDeleteThat's a laugh. You don't speak out about problems. You trash people. Big difference, which is likely why you hide out here.
DeleteWouldnt division have to address. What does corporate have to do with anything?
ReplyDeleteThe problem is very basic, no need to name names. Subscribers in Shreveport do not get their paper. When they call to complain they get a credit. The problem continues, no mgmt returns callls or fixes problem. Subscriber cancels subscription.
ReplyDeleteIf you look at the subscriptions that have been canceled amongst the most elite Shreveport community members, it's staggering. No one that matters subscribes anymore. It's sad, really.

Deletedon't forget the Sreveport press that won't run is the brain child of austin ryan ! make him go run it !!
ReplyDeletePart of my Shreveport paper was delivered on time today, but it was missing a section. Can't help but wonder if the Living section was even printed at all. Advertisers should check to see if their ad even ran.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry they will get what is coming to them. The issues are moving right up the ladder.Just sit back and watch..
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see it all unfold
DeleteFLORIDA TODAY publisher sends email to everyone in advertising listing reps who are missing their sales goal on a special section including amounts. Only 2 reps hit or exceeded their goal. Way to motivate the troops by belittling them in front of thier peers.
ReplyDeleteGood grief. Anybody that sensitive has no business pursuing a career in sales.
DeleteShows a total lack of confidence in his advertising management.
DeleteLooks like his management style is by intimidation and implied threats. I thought those days were gone. Silly me.
DeleteAnyplace but the newspaper business, good salespeople actually thrive on competition and accountability. No wonder this industry tanked!
