Salisbury | Burlington's Kilian named top editor

Kilian
Michael Kilian starts March 4 as executive editor of The Daily Times in Salisbury, Md., which was snared in a mess last June involving a sensational prank telephone call to an influential local blogger. He replaces Greg Bassett, who left the paper last month.

Kilian has been associate editor at the Burlington Free Press in Vermont, the Times noted today in reporting his appointment.

  3. Greg Bassett "left" the paper? I guess getting fired involves leaving.

  4. Bassett wasn't fired, but remaining in his job wasn't one of the choices.
