USAT | Page gets a hat tip from a top competitor

Page
I don't often see The New York Times credit USA Today with exclusive news. But it happened this morning, in the NYT's story about New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie delivering the keynote address at this month's Republican National Convention. USAT's Susan Page landed the interview about Christie's high-profile role.

  4. Old news. Already inteviewed by Fox and NBC. NYT must still be kissing Page's ass as they keep trying to lure her to the old gray lady.

  5. 12:54 It wasn't about who broke the story first, it was about giving USAToday (Page) credit for getting the first interview with Christie about giving the keynote address, hence the "exclusive news."

  6. Go back and read the story and headline in USAT. It was billed as exclusive that he is giving keynote speech - which was reported 27 days earlier.

  7. Yes, Christie's been rumored to be the keynote for months. But, there's a difference between reporting a rumor and reporting a certainty. Give Page credit...

  8. Susan's a real pro. wish we had some more. too bad we make such piss poor hires, keep dead weight and marginalize the veterans who question leadership.

why are managers so threatened that it impacts hiring and promotions? I dont get it.
