Earnings | Q1 financial report set for April 16

Corporate said moments ago that it will release Gannett's first-quarter financial report before stock markets open two weeks from Monday. CEO Gracia Martore and other senior executives will then host a teleconference with Wall Street media stock analysts to discuss the results. That call will be webcast to the public on a listen-only basis.

GCI shares recently traded for $14.17, up 5.4% since the release of the fourth-quarter financial report vs. a 6.3% gain in the S&P 500 index, a widely followed measure of overall stock market activity.

  2. And this is what you'll hear on the call: "Haamina-haamina!"

  3. This will be an interesting dance. Can't blame economic headwinds or the bad weather this time, Gracia. You'll have to blame sheer incompetence (Hunke, Heather Frank) and self dealing bad hires (Banikarim). Tsk, Tsk.

Time for more outside marketing studies and penny counting.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
