USAT | Page is one of the paper's best ambassadors

I just saw USA Today Washington Bureau Chief Susan Page on the PBS NewsHour and was reminded, again, of how polished and smart she is on this high-profile program.

I've noticed the same skills when she substitutes for Diane Rehm on her namesake public-affairs program on NPR affiliate WAMU in Washington.

Tonight, PBS's Judy Woodruff discussed the evolving GOP field with Page and The Rothenberg Political Report's Stuart Rothenberg. Here's video and a transcript.

  1. Susan is very impressive both as a representative of USAT and of steering clear of the management morass. Highly professional. Great productivity. I should be jealous but I'm not

  2. Susan Page is the BEST thing USAT has....truly great. Let's not lose her!

  3. She's not stupid...sure she'll take the best offer that comes, from either Bloomberg or Reuters.

  4. No one is bidding for her. If she goes, its to replace npr host dianne rehm fulltime.

  5. We'll lose her because we're not insightful enough to know what we have now and what we'll miss when she's gone.

  6. Gannett will lose her because they don't give a crap about individual employees. We all know that.

  7. Page has been looking for years but unlike Lynch, she carries too much baggage and is too branded to USAT light.

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
