Sponsors | New math: When does 55 = $155?

When it's my 55th birthday (yep: it was Thursday), and my generous readers shower me with contributions.

I'm delighted to acknowledge a new $20 annual subscriber, from Delaware, plus other $20 contributions from Florida, Iowa, Louisiana, New York and Ohio. I also received $5 each from readers in New York, and an undisclosed state. And just now, I got $25 from a reader in Nebraska, who wrote: "Happy birthday and happy blogging ... best wishes for a good year."

With advertising sales, those contributions bring me to 43% of my quarterly goal. The breakdown:
  • Reader donations: $525
  • Advertising: $1,185
I'm trying to earn $4,000 quarterly, through donations of $5 per reader, plus advertising sales. Please use the PayPal "Donate" or "Subscribe" tools in the green rail, upper right. Or mail cash and checks payable to: Jim Hopkins, 584 Castro St. #823, San Francisco, Calif., 94114-2594.
