Sponsors | A $100 gift, and a new $20 subscription

An Indiana reader just made a generous contribution: $120, which consisted of a $100 gift, plus the first payment on an annual $20 subscription.

I appreciate all gifts in all sizes. But subscriptions, which give readers an easy way to provide ongoing support, are especially welcome.

With today's donation and advertising sales, I'm now at 56% of my quarterly goal. The breakdown:
  • Reader donations: $661
  • Advertising: $1,568
I'm trying to earn $4,000 quarterly, through donations of $5 per reader, plus advertising sales. Please use the PayPal "Donate" or "Subscribe" tools in the green rail, upper right. Or mail cash and checks payable to: Jim Hopkins, 584 Castro St. #823, San Francisco, Calif., 94114-2594.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
