Related: In Tokyo, Hello Kitty and Hooters join forces for a special Valentine's Day promotion. (No, I'm not making this up.)

  2. When I noticed the popularity of "Hello Kitty" merchandise, with older girls, I started to question the reason for it's popularity. I suspected that the term "Hello Kitty," had a duplicate meaning. After a while, my suspicions were confirmed on a reality show... When the term "H---- K----" was an outward (somewhat overt) invitation to the opposite sex. So, it does not surprise me that Hello Kitty has teamed up with Hooters. There seem to be two types of audiences for this product. Unfortunately, the audiences are at complete opposite ends of the spectrum.
