Brian Donnelly, twice president and publisher of The News Journal in Wilmington and a co-founder of the Delaware Community Foundation, died yesterday at his Florida home. Donnelly, 78, had been ill for some time, the Delaware daily said today.

He was a very nice man. He knew EVERYONE'S name in the building. I had just started working there and he said hello to me, saying my name. I was very impressed. Those days are gone when you were actually a person and not a number.
