KARE | Station veteran Helmke to news director

Jane Helmke, a veteran 28-year news staffer, has been named news director at KARE, the NBC affiliate  for Minneapolis-St. Paul, Corporate said in a statement today. Helmke has served as the interim news director since May, and for the past 28 years has worked in almost every newsroom department, including production, news and sports, special projects producer and as managing editor.
