Poughkeepsie | News carrier in high-profile murder

In a case that's galvanized public attention for months, Stephen Shand, 23, was arrested Wednesday and charged with killing 18-year-old Kathryn Filiberti in Hyde Park, N.Y., last March. The Poughkeepsie Journal reported he was one of its newspaper carriers in a story yesterday.

At one point, rumors about the case grew so rampant, the District Attorney's Office was forced to issue a statement denying that two police officers were suspects.
