USAT | 'Beat the Press' on pay-for-pageviews

USA Today's proposal to pay sports editorial employees bonuses based on pageviews has drawn the interest of Beat the Press, a weekly public affairs show about media that's produced by WGBH-TV, the acclaimed PBS affiliate in Boston. A segment could air today at 7 p.m. ET on Channel 2 in the Boston area, according to show producer Ralph Ranalli, who interviewed me yesterday. Check local listings in the week ahead, in case your local PBS affiliate carries the show. And I'll post any video here, when it becomes available.

  1. Is this plan a reality? Or does Jim even care anymore? Proposal, actual; what's the difference?

Still throwing crap at the wall.

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
