Tallahassee | Your're going to love this ad . . .

That was the subject line today of the e-mail I got from a reader who included a screenshot of the Tallahassee Democrat's homepage. Get it? (As I post this, the banner ad is still up on the site.)

  1. No, I don't get it. There is an ad for Gannett Foundation local grants if that is what you are referring to.

  4. 10:41 are you joking? It's the first thing I noticed. Being a print artist sucks. If you make a mistake, it's permanently set in ink. If you're in digital, just refresh the page...what mistake?

  5. Too funny, 11:47. Unfortunately, this is more common than not these days.

  7. I didn't click through to see if this is the dealers "value statement", but knowing some advertisers it may be their "issue" and not the copywriters. For those who missed it...YOUR...YOU'RE.

  8. 8:27, that's been my experience as well. I would advise the client of the proper spelling, and the client would insist otherwise. When I would relay this as a content-quality / product-credibility issue to my superior, I would be told "they're paying for the ad."

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
